Confraternity of St Galgano (established on 1185)

In this section of the website you can find the historical information on the life of Saint Galgano. All news brought back here are fruit of careful research and they are based on reliable historical sources. The Galgano’s bibliography is richest of witnesses of great historical value, but also of fanciful and lucubration, theories and visionaries, tales legend of ties with the myth of king Arthur. As Confraternity we follow Saint Galgano since 1185 and we adhere to the tradition, confirmed sources and historically valid, leaving to others the adventure of fantasy travels. Anyhow, research is a virtue, so we do not take nothing for granted, but we verify, we try, we deepen every single note on the saint from Chiusdino. Fot love of Galgano, but first for love of the truth. Because he’s moved from this love our Prior and Governor, professor and knight Andrea Conti, has published the last and most complete historical text on the life of Galgano, where also, thanks to the precious job of professor Mario Arturo Iannaccone, the presumed ties with the Arthurian saga has been challenged.
